Our Story

How did it come to pass that Mitch and Michelle would become passionate farmers after long careers and experience in many different cities, and roles? We could say that there are no coincidences and that we somehow manifested our next journey, but it definitively came about from a series of fortunate events that led to where we are today!

Testimonials

“Wow! What a beautiful piece of property. Our family of 4 camped with our 24ft Travel Trailer. We had the place to ourselves except for the seasonal workers who were very friendly. Mitch and Michelle were very accommodating. They set up “movie night” in the bars on our last night. That barn is something special. Highly recommend staying here.”
Dominic L., Hipcamp Review from April 13, 2024

“What a little piece of heaven! Mitch was absolutely lovely and the grounds were incredible. Having all the hookups right next to us were quite helpful as well. We’ll definitely be back! And don’t forget to check out the second floor of the barn! Way way cool!”

Angella H., Hipcamp Review from October 5, 2023

“Beautiful property – very quiet and peaceful, yet everything we wanted to do in Olympia was a quick drive. Kids loved exploring the barn and playing on the swings!”

Lindsay, Hipcamp Review

“Summit Farms is a spectacular spot. Very beautiful, quiet, with fantastic amenities, particularly if you have an RV, having full hook ups makes all the difference. The kids had a great time exploring the farm and playing in the barn (…the swings were particularly popular). Mitch and Michelle are lovely hosts, they made us feel very welcome. We will be returning!”

Adrian, Hipcamp Review

“I loved staying at this hidden away, picturesque gem in my 27’ airstream. Plenty of room to navigate and explore.”

Growing Update: July 2024

June 28, 2024|

It’s been a very busy time of year for us growers, while Mother Nature and weather have been fickle at best so far. Our 2024 growing season really began in October of last year with the planting of hundreds of garlic and red shallot so that they could “over-winter” and be ready for scapes in June, with harvest and curing in July. It’s going to be a banner year for [...]

WWOOF (Worldwide Opportunities for Organic Farmers)

June 28, 2024|

For the past couple of years, we have been hosting WWOOFers from around the U.S. who have helped us so much along with providing a safe and supportive environment for the Future Farmers of America. This organization links Farmers/Ranchers who are practicing to organic methods with folks who either have some school or first-hand experience and can learn by doing. The host farms generally provide housing and food in exchange [...]
